Brand Maintenance - part 2

Image
Brand maintenance refers to the ongoing process of ensuring a brand remains relevant, consistent, and effective across all touchpoints. It is essential for maintaining brand recognition, customer loyalty, and product quality, particularly during the maturity phase of a brand's lifecycle.  Like a vehicle, a brand requires regular upkeep to function optimally, which can range from minor messaging adjustments to significant overhauls.  This process involves auditing recent brand activities, reviewing successes and failures, and developing actionable plans to keep the brand competitive and aligned with its core values and long-term objectives. Consistency in brand maintenance is crucial for building trust and staying top of mind in a crowded digital landscape.  It ensures that all marketing materials, websites, social media, and advertising align with the brand’s messaging, voice, and visual identity.  This consistency extends to internal operations, where employee...

The Boule Class

Image
“On Angela Rye and the Boule Class” We’re going to talk about your girl, Angela Rye. Now, Angela Rye has made some people upset lately — but let’s be honest, we’ve been on the Angela Rye bumper for a long time. Angela Rye is certified Boule. We know this. She is Boule to the core. And recently, she’s stirred up controversy again. But this isn’t new — it’s the same pattern we’ve seen for years. You’ve got this Boule class in the Black community — people who think that just because they got a degree, or pledged a Greek organization, they’re somehow better than the rest of us. They don’t want to talk to us; they want to talk at us. They think they know what’s best for Black people. And for decades, they’ve cozied up to the Democratic Party, claiming they’re fighting for progress. But what has that produced? Nothing. No reparations. No anti-Black hate crime bill. Nothing meaningful has come from these so-called “leaders” in those circles. Angela Rye’s been around — CNN, The Breakfas...

Trap: Cult of Domesticity

Image
T he Cult of Domesticity   You ever notice how every generation of women gets told the same lie, just with a different name? In the 1800s, they called it the cult of domesticity . It told women that their purpose was to serve God, husband, and home, and to find pride in submission. This one's going to raise my blood pressure, Lord. But what they don't tell you is this whole thing wasn't about gender. It was about race , of course. It was about maintaining white supremacy through femininity. Why can't I say that damn word, femininity? Why? Why? It was about maintaining white supremacy through femininity. Femininity. They said a woman's power was in her patience, that virtue was her silence, and that her home was her kingdom, but she could only rule if she obeyed. They built an entire theology around women being moral because it made men more manageable. It wasn't empowerment. It was emotional labor sold as holiness . And here's the catch: that ideal...

The Closing of the Account: The Collapse of the Democratic Influencer Class

Image
The 3 Rules All Black Politicians Obey To Stay Elected The proverbial checks are about to bounce, and the spectacle of the ensuing fallout promises to be as revealing as it is inevitable. For those observing the current political landscape, a palpable sense of panic has begun to permeate specific circles. The cadre of political operatives and media personalities long tasked with delivering the Black electorate to the Democratic Party has suffered a catastrophic loss of influence. They have reached a point of total, irreversible obsolescence; the machinery of persuasion is broken, and the Democratic establishment is finally beginning to realize that their investment is no longer yielding a return. The Mechanism of Manufactured Consent For decades, the Democratic Party maintained a sophisticated ecosystem of pundits, activists, and influencers whose primary function was to act as political shepherds. This arrangement was transactional: through direct payments, consulting cont...

Enemy of Black People

Image
Russell Vought Enemy of Black People Russell Vought, Donald Trump's former budget director, has been confirmed as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the current administration, a position he also held during Trump's first term. 1 There is significant reporting that he is one of the most influential figures in the current White House, and his role as OMB Director is described as a key source of power in implementing the president's agenda. 2 Key points that support the idea of his considerable influence include: OMB's Role: The OMB acts as the White House's "nerve center," developing the budget, coordinating policy priorities, and overseeing agency rule-making. 3 Vought himself described the OMB Director's job as the "best, most comprehensive approximation of the President's mind" and the President's "air-traffic control system." 4 Project 2025 Arc...

Political Theater

Image
Political Theater and the Black Voter Walkaway Representative Summer Lee rushed to an immigration detention center to fight for people who just got here while Black Americans in her district are still fighting for basic dignity. This is exactly why we walked away. Let me tell you about the most insulting political theater I've witnessed lately. Representative Summer Lee , a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, made headlines rushing to an immigration detention center, demanding entry, fighting tooth and nail for the rights of people who literally just arrived in this country. Meanwhile, Black Americans in her own district are dealing with crumbling schools, food deserts, police brutality, and economic abandonment that's been going on for decades. And this woman has the audacity to wonder why black voters are walking away from the Democratic party. See, Summer Lee represents everything that's wrong with Black Democratic leadership today. She's more concerned with ...
